Wouldnt it be wonderful to pay a visit to the cardinal on a warm Italian afternoon, sit in his study with him and look out the window at his beautiful garden and listen to the birds chirping? We could have espresso and lemon torrone (his favorite) while we discuss one of his favorite Pauline epistles, Ephesians. He is usually mild mannered, but when we read over Ephesians 4:1-4, his whole countenance changes: he becomes passionate and resolute, his love for the Church and God is so intense. This passage, Eph 4:1-4 reminds me of Fratelli " As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." AHH, yes, the world does indeed need more Fratelli: his witness to the Gospel is what we crave today!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13127085597219475234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946235120183467386.post-20875578128764783942012-10-27T12:58:21.242-07:002012-10-27T12:58:21.242-07:00Ahh I love it!Ahh I love it!Rachel M. If while doing this, you also rub your chin with one hand and twirl your glasses with the other (regardless of whether you normally wear them), and occasionally nod and mutter, "Yes . . . yes," many people will assume you are a professional art critic. To disabuse them would of course cause them undue embarrassment. In order to avoid this, when turning to leave, it's well to look around, smile politely, and offer a deep and sophisticated-sounding quote from say, Sting or David Byrne, or a line you might have heard on NPR. adonais060669@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10764057663237150098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946235120183467386.post-52741053562889069532012-10-26T13:23:26.226-07:002012-10-26T13:23:26.226-07:00You are invited to follow mine. You are invited to follow mine.Rachel M.
